Go By Bike Week is a week focused on using our bikes to commute to work, to school, or for daily trips and errands. Whistler has been an avid participant in Go By Bike Week (formerly Bike to Work Week) over the years, seeing huge turnout among our community of bikers.
After all, biking is good for your physical health, your mental health, and the health of our community and environment. Choose to bike instead of using a motor vehicle this Go By Bike Week and enjoy these benefits and more – plus, once you start logging your trips, you’ll get entered to win some awesome prizes!
This year, the Association of Whistler Area Residents for the Environment (AWARE) is excited to be partnering with the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) and the GoByBike BC Society to organize GoByBike week in Whistler.
The RMOW has been organizing a Bike to Work Week in Whistler for many years. They have supported bicycle commuting in the community through the construction of the valley trail, work around safe cycling, the bicycle valet service, and so much more. In 2019, RMOW staff set an amazing example as one of the biggest teams of bikers in the Whistler Bike to Work Week!
AWARE has been Whistler’s environmental charity for over 30 years, working to progress community-scale solutions to some of the biggest challenges of our time: Climate Change. Habitat Loss. Wildlife. Waste. Water. Biodiversity. Wilderness. AWARE works independently and with others to connect people with nature and build more sustainable communities.
