Find your #CycleYearRound passion: Chelsea’s inspiring journey in Penticton!

“I like to use my bike for transportation because I always get the best parking spot at work. Biking to work is a great way to role model an active lifestyle to my children and my patients. (I work as a physiotherapist) Finally, biking to work makes me feel connected to my community. I often see the same people everyday walking or cycling in the other direction and even though I don’t know their names, we wave or share a smile. And when Owen and I see deer on our way to work we shout, “Good morning!” to them as well. Biking is just a lot more fun than driving!”

Chelsea R., Penticton (Owen’s mom)

“My name is Owen and I’m 4 years old. My mom and me ride to daycare every morning. I used to ride on the bike seat, but this fall I was upgraded to the trail a bike. We go by bike all year long. We sometimes bike to the library and beach too.

We live in Penticton and they built a new bike lane for me and my mom that takes us right to daycare! My favourite part about biking is go by bike week when they have treats for me in the morning. I also like seeing the deer and Christmas decorations in our neighbourhood.

My mom had a bike light on her handlebars, and I would like one too!”
