Nanaimo Spring GoByBike Weeks 2023- All You Need to Know!

Less than 1 week left until Spring GoByBike Weeks start from May 29th – June 2nd! And the Kick-Off party is happening THIS SUNDAY! Come by Maffeo Sutton Park between 3 – 5 pm to join in on some free fun including Nanaimo Art Gallery activities, Modo carshare information, and upcoming week info! Also, tag along for the Bike X MODO race. If you wish to participate, meet at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, FLO charging station parking lot. The race will start at 3:10 pm and will end at Maffeo Sutton. Participants will automatically be registered in the prize draw. Bike Tag

  • All cyclists who participate in Bike Tag (post at least one tag) between May 29 – June 2 will be entered in a draw to win some local bike shop swag (, Rock City Cycles, Pedego, and BC Ebikes & more).

Commuter Challenge

  • The Commuter Challenge is an event that encourages individuals and organizations to choose sustainable transportation options for their daily commute instead of relying on single-occupancy vehicles. Participants are encouraged to walk, cycle, take public transportation, carpool, or use any other eco-friendly mode of transportation during a specific timeframe. The goal is to promote sustainable transportation choices, reduce carbon emissions, and improve overall health and well-being.
  • Visit any local bike shop of your choice in Nanaimo and sign up to be part of their GoByBike team. The Commuter Challenge aims to raise awareness about the environmental and health benefits of sustainable transportation while fostering a sense of community and friendly competition.

Local Prize Draws

  • For all GBB participants who register at least one ride between May 28th – June 11, you will be entered into our grand prize draws for a $50 MODO credit membership!!
  • There will be other fun prizes for: top km ridden, and the top team.
