Bicycle Film Festival Nanaimo

As a kick-off to Fall Go By Bike Weeks and to celebrate the great access to biking of all kinds in our community, we are excited to present the Bicycle Film Festival Nanaimo. Join us Saturday, October 1st at the Malaspina Theatre (Vancouver Island University) for a screening of short films that celebrate biking as an activity for everyone and a pre-event party that celebrates multi-modal transportation.

Details:

• The FREE pre-event (sponsored by Modo Carshare) will start at 4:30 pm and will include: information about electric vehicles, food trucks, E-Bike trials, and information about sustainable initiatives in Nanaimo – come down early to join in on the fun!

• Theatre doors open at 6:30 pm with general seating – tickets are $15 + tax, buy them here.

• The screenings begin at 7:00 pm and run for approximately 110 minutes.

• Bike Valet is available for those arriving by bike – which we recommend! You can use the Digital Cycling Map to plan your route.

In 2001, Bicycle Film Festival (BFF) Founding Director Brendt Barbur started the BFF as a platform to celebrate the bicycle through music, art and, of course film. BFF plays an important role in creating an eco-friendly society, bringing diverse communities together, and offing an international point of view to the cycling movement. It has been a major catalyst for the urban bike movement, one of the most powerful and culturally relevant forces of the last decade. The stories appeal to a wide audience from film connoisseurs to avid cyclists and everything in between.

We look forward to seeing you there!
