GoByBike Week at Our Central Okanagan Schools: Get Ready to Ride!

Get your bikes ready and your helmets on! GoByBike Week is on now. We are thrilled to have 30 schools participating this year, which historically translates to about 1,500 enthusiastic students and teachers hitting the streets on their bikes. Let’s make this the best GoByBike Week yet!

Community Stations and Special Events

Our schools are going all out to make this week special. Balsam and Casorso Schools are setting up fantastic community stations to support and celebrate our young cyclists. Oyama Elementary has an impressive 20 classes ready to roll, while Spring Valley Middle School is planning a grand finale ride complete with bedazzled bikes and costumes! These events are designed to bring everyone together, promote healthy habits, and most importantly, have a blast.

Amazing Prizes and Discounts

Thanks to our generous community partners, we have some awesome incentives for everyone who participates:

  • Every student gets 15 minutes of free VR at Xperience Games, 25% off mini golf at Kelowna Driving Range with a complementary second round, and two free bowling passes per week all summer at McCurdy Bowling.
  • One lucky school will receive 35 mini golf passes to Scandia Golf and Games.
  • Two schools will win a top participation prize for a class, which includes a delicious Subway lunch.
  • Provincial Prizes: Two schools have the chance to win $1,000 to put towards active transportation needs like bike storage or cycling safety training.

Extra Incentives

Students can also showcase their creativity and passion for biking by creating a short 60-90 second video about their biking experiences. The best videos will win a $50 Visa gift card!
