CRANBROOK SCHOOLS GoByBikeBC CHALLENGE

Date: Sep 28, 2020  to  Oct 4, 2020

The 2020 Cranbrook Schools’ Bike Challenge puts the spotlight on students & staff riding their bikes anytime/anywhere and not just to school during GoByBike Cranbrook Week. Tracking this data will be done simply through the www.GoByBikeBC.ca website. Schools are asked to designate a Team Leader and register as a “Team”. Each time you log a ride it will add to your school’s total. It is FREE to register schools, students & staff for participation and to qualify for an opportunity to win prizes.

The local trophy is also up for grabs again this year and the winner will be determined through each school’s bike ride statistics obtained from the provincial website data. The winning school will be the school with the greatest ratio of rides/school population. All students and staff are encouraged to get out and ride their bikes as many times as they can during the week and log in their rides. Kids!….Bike with your family & friends (in your bubble) for a ride on the Rotary Trail, NorthStar Rails2Trails, the Cranbrook Community Forest, Chief Isadore Trail, in your neighbourhood and more!

Kootenay Orchards School is the defending Champion! – In 2019 young students were encouraged to ride their bikes to school and after the Bike to School Week the school with the greatest ratio of children who rode their bikes was declared the winner. Kootenay Orchards School took the trophy and are the reigning champions.
